Butt-Naked Wisdom
Today is tomorrow unless we change our mindsets
Hey, what a year 2020 has been to all of us.
We are either extremely glad to see the end of this year or we are standing in a place of gratefulness for what 2020 actually has meant to so many.
One thing is for sure is that time waits for no man and we must know that a change in digit won't change our circumstance or situation or even the course of where our life is going. UNLESS we are ready to make the mindset changes needed for change to effectively happen.
I, for one am extremely grateful for 2020 as it's birthed out of me so many amazing things mainly overcoming my need to put me last but rather in order for me to be the best version for those around me I needed to work on me.
For every one that has listened to 1,2 or 40 episodes of Butt-Naked Wisdom I want to say thank you so so much. I have been blessed as this platform has allowed me to have a voice that was closed up for so many years but now I know its the gift God has given to me.
I have some more exciting news in that I have now launched my NEW BOOK - well my 1st ever book called What's Stopping you? Make that hard decision today! by me Selina Davis

Hey girl, Selina Davis host of Butt-Naked wisdom. I am coming to you the last day of 2020 with an episode, basically, what a year, oh my gosh, what a year we have been through this year. I'm not sure what side of the coin you sit on in terms of where your perspective stand on 2020. And everything that has happened this year, you know, the year we started the year off as deemed as normal, and we went straight into a pandemic. So whether you are a parent that had to convert into being a teacher, whether you were furloughed, whether you were laid off, whether you had to make decisions as to how and what you were going to do in terms of work, because of the whole school situation, wherever you may have been, and stood, you know, you may have lost loved ones, unfortunately, through COVID-19, you yourself may have experienced and gone through COVID yourself and have recovered. You know, it's been a year of ups and downs. And it's been a very emotional year for a lot of people. You know, we were panicking, you know, doing our shopping and buying toilet rolls as if the world was totally ending. And we were not able to, you know, the pandemic for the COVID-19 was related to a stomach bug. And we were doing a lot of drastic things as human beings. But ultimately, I think what happened in this year is that we lost control. And the World what looked like we were in control of we will now no longer in control of and a lot of factors were going on around us that we really didn't have for information about especially when it came to the politics and the elections and, you know, unfortunate deaths that have been witnessed, because everybody was intently at home. So news on social media, George Floyd, Brianna Taylor, you know, a whole host of individuals this year have created what I would say a very epic year for so many of us. And I just really wanted us to really take time and think about what does this year mean to us. And for me, I personally have gone through a lot this year, I've had to make some sacrifices, with my work, I left my corporate job, I had to figure out a way to then become obviously a parent, I'm a mother of five, and juggle, you know, figuring out what I could do and start in a business and really literally praying to God that every month I would have income to cover our expenses based on the corporate job I had and the salary I had previously. And it's been one of those times in my year in my life where I have been so much more aware of myself as a human being. I have made conscious decisions date monthly should I say on various different things and areas of my life. And I know for one fact, God is in control and he has carried us to the end. Now unfortunately, as I said before, many have not seen that end. But we that are standing and are still here and can give Him glory must really and truly thank him for allowing us to even survive and be where we are today is a blessing. It is something that we should be grateful for. And we should appreciate where it is that we are going, you know, I have been able to accomplish a lot being able to launch this podcast. I recently have some amazing news, I've launched a book and I will be doing a series on my book. And I will give you more information about that shortly. But I really just wanted to take the time to just come to you guys with gratefulness and appreciation for every single person that has listened to one, two, 5, 45, 50 episodes that I have recorded. I know my episodes are not long winded, they're not 10 minutes, 15 minutes, half an hour an hour. They are very small, bite size, you know episodes, because that is 10 that tends to be how I can listen to information and I want to be able to relate with the people that I'm speaking to. And I hope that I can grow with you guys. I hope that you have been blessed by maybe hopefully one episode that I have recorded this season. But I truly feel very quite choked up right now. To say that I am grateful and thankful that I would even push myself to To record and to put my voice out there, I have been holding myself back for years, I have been listening to voices or conversations that was stopping me from just doing what I felt was on my heart to be able to speak to people and to relate to people and to share my experiences and share my knowledge and wisdom and understanding about the things that I've been through in my life. And I just am very grateful. I'm very, very grateful. I'm very thankful for everyone that has listened, every download every platform that has, you know, taken on my podcast, I'm truly grateful I'm growing, I'm learning I will evolve and things will definitely get much more you know, better as the years go on. But firstly, all I want to say is thank you. I appreciate you, I love you. It is been a year a year to remember and I hope that you will take what you have learned, learn and received in 2020. And move forward in progression in 2021. Today is no different from tomorrow. The only thing that is different is our mindset. If we want tomorrow to be different, we must change the way that we think we must change the way that we operate, we must change the way that we see ourselves. Use the lenses of your own eyes, do not look through your life through the lenses of anyone else apart from yourself. Don't blame anybody that put that emphasis or that you know responsibility on any other human being. Take control of who you are and where you want to go in life. God has you he has directed our path. He said that he has predestined us before the foundation of this earth. He knows every step in every situation that we are part through every hurt every pain, every darkness, every every happiness, every joy, every stressful moment, every area of depression or anxiety or frustration. Wherever our emotions have fallen this year. I am telling you, he had been with us throughout all of it. And at some point in this year, I have experienced so much I have gone through a period of time where I had no electricity, no gas, no nothing, it was also turned off and switched off. And I had no means in which to pay for my bills. But God be the glory and he is the one that has allowed me to remain in this home that I'm in right now. So I just have to be thankful I have to be grateful, I have to know that he is with me directly in my path. And you doing the same for you. There is nothing that is stopping us apart from ourselves. I have shown myself this this year for the things that I've been able to achieve and just do. It's better to start than not to start at all. You know I say this very much this saying procrastination sorry perfection is for procrastinators, when you are procrastinator you are looking for perfection. Perfection doesn't come is never going to be a perfect time to do stuff. And as as a famous saying from a guy called Simon Sinek is if not, who, if not you then who. And if not now, then when you know if there's not going to be you that's going to do the thing that somebody else is going to do if it's not going to be right now, then it's going to be never. So you need to take up that mantle, you need to take up that staff you need to do whatever it is that you need to do in order to put your heels in the ground and move yourself forward in your life. Take the steps of faith, stop holding yourself back. We only lived this life once. Many people didn't make it to the end. But we have been given the grace and the glory of God to land where we are today. And I want to say thank you, Jesus. Thank you, God, thank you to each and every one of you that have listened to my voice this year. As I said, I don't care how many episodes you may have listened to if it's just one you've listened to. I am thankful that you even heard who I am. And you have heard a message that I'm hoping that has touched your heart in some way. But I know that 2021 will be an amazing year for each and every one of us as long as we are prepared and ready to set our mind on change. set our mind on moving forward, set our mind on progression, set our mind on being ready, ready for whatever opportunities are open for us ready for whatever opportunities need to be closed. But ultimately, we need to be prepared and open and ready to receive. So I'm saying this to say 2020 I bless you 2021 Let's get it. I'm ready. I am thankful. I know there is so much to come. And I just I'm so thankful and grateful for each and every one of you. So God bless you.
